Hello all! I just opened my Etsy shop. It is called “A Modern Bestiary.” I will be selling limited editions of my animals. I will be adding new prints every week. Let me know what you think!
I finished this old timey weight-lifting toad about a month ago, and just got around to posting it. I especially like how his flab is sticking out from under the belt!
I completed a mural several months ago for Jay and Rose Deutsch, owners of the Leica Gallery(a photography gallery in New York.) It was fun to do and everyone was pleased with the results. The phrase in latin says “Quod Cupio Mecum Est” which translated means “What I want, I already have.”
A short interview of me by the incomparable Olympia Lambert, writer and curator extradanaire!
Sorry for the long delay in posting! It has been a busy Winter, plus I am moving to the Lower Upper East Side. The good news is that Robot will be in a works on paper show at DFN Gallery this February 3rd.
It look like it will be a good show! See a preview here
I have been super busy lately with no time to post! I am working on the design for a mini mural for a clients apartment. More soon!
I thought I could use a maquette to help me with different angle views. Hmm, maybe I should make the rest of the body…
Before I do a full color watercolor/gouache painting, I make a fully realized and detailed black and white pencil sketch of the composition.
To those of you that thought toads and neoclassicism were incompatible, here is evidence to the contrary!
